What is Santa’s Magical Journey?
It is a visit to our Fantasyland building touring Christmas scenes and includes a visit to Santa in his house and a gift with a child’s ticket. Once you have visited Santa and purchased a photograph (optional, although photography is not permitted inside Santa’s house) you will proceed outside to view the lantern light extravaganza.
How long will the event take?
It takes approximately 1.5-2hours to complete the event.

Is the event indoors or outdoors?
The event is both inside and out, please wear appropriate clothing for outside.
I’d like to book a gender-neutral present for my child, is this possible?
Yes, please select N/A when making your booking and inputting the child’s gender.
I’ve booked my time slot what happens at that time?
Your time slot is the start time of your journey, please arrive promptly.
Can we buy a ticket when we arrive?
No. So that everyone can fully enjoy the experience, you will need to book a time slot in advance. This can be done via our website.
Can you add an extra adult or child ticket to my booking reference?
Yes you can subject to availability, providing numbers do not exceed 8 people. This can only be done by phone on 01328 878477. We will need to refer to your original booking so please have your booking reference handy.
What is the maximum number that can visit Santa’s House?
The maximum number that can go into Santa’s house at any time is eight.
Can I go around Santa’s Magical Journey without a child?
No, we’re afraid not, all visits to Santa must have a paying child.
Can children under 1 year go free?
Children under 1 can go free if you have another paying child in your party. The child entering free of charge will not receive a present.
What if I cannot make it once I have bought my tickets to Santa’s Magical Journey?
Tickets to the event are non-refundable and non-transferable. Please click on the link to see the ticket terms and conditions. We suggest that you purchase refund protection at the time of booking to cover you in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
What is Booking Protect?
‘Booking Protect’ also known as refund protection protects your tickets so you can apply for a refund should you or anyone in your party be unable to attend the event. Please note refund protection can only be added at the time of booking and cannot be added once the the booking has been confirmed. Ensure that you read the Terms and Conditions. Is the journey and site wheelchair/pushchair accessible?
Yes, it is fully accessible.
Can we take photos?
Yes you can take photos and/or videos along the journey but NOT in Santa’s house.
Will there be loud noises or lighting effects?
There will be moderate flashing lights and sound effects, however no strobe lighting. Please contact us through our website if you require any further information. On our relaxed day, sound and lighting will be amended as appropriate. (4th December)
What else is on site?
We have catering facilities and gift shops on site for which opening times vary. There is a catering outlet in the Fantasyland building which will be open during the Santa’s Magical Journey event.
Will the rides be running?
The Collection’s vintage rides (Carousel & Gondola) will not be running for the event. However, we will have the Funfair again for 2022 (please note this is run independently of Thursford and the cost of attractions and rides are not included in the price of your ticket). The Funfair will be open from 19th November 2022.
Can we book a table in your restaurant?
We do not take any bookings for our catering outlets; they are provided on a first come first serve basis.
How likely are we to be able to get something to eat on site?
Very likely! Even though our café and restaurant are not bookable, we are used to a high turnover of guests; 95% are working to a timed ticket so most people move along quite quickly so they can also visit the shops before the journey starts.
Do you cater for any dietary requirements?
Yes we do! We cater for gluten free, nut allergies, vegan etc. Please phone our office on 01328 878 477 to find out more.
Can we bring our own food?
Sorry but this is not possible, you cannot consume your own food anywhere on the complex. An exception will be made for severe allergies and for other medical purposes providing it is agreed with a member of staff prior to your visit. Please contact the office on 01328 878477 where we will be happy to assist.
What happens when we arrive at the event?
When you arrive at the event your tickets will be checked on entry, so please have them ready.
Is there a discount for carers?
At time of booking essential carers are entitled to a carers ticket subject to availability and eligibility criteria. Please click on the link to our Access Statement for full details: https://www.thursford.com/access-statement/.
These tickets can only be booked by calling the Box Office on 01328 878477. Proof of eligibility must be provided. If tickets are not booked via the Box Office discounts cannot be added retrospectively.
Do you take cash payments in the catering outlets and gift shops?
Cash payments are strongly discouraged for ease and speed as we do get extremely busy. All tills have card machine facilities. We accept most credit cards except American express or Amex.
Are you easy to find?
We are well sign posted, 1 mile off the A148, halfway between Fakenham and Holt; turn off at the Crawfish public house. Please follow the brown and white tourist sign. If you are using a form of GPS, then please use our postcode to find us NR21 0AS. What3words: //guards.settle.enchanted
Are there parking facilities?
There is a large free car park on site. We have car park attendants to assist you on the day. Please not there are no facilities on the car park.
Do you have disabled parking?
We have limited disabled parking spaces available. Please speak to one of our car park attendants and they will direct you to the best available parking space.
How far is the car park from the venue?
The car park is located on site and, depending on your ability will be roughly a 5-10 minute walk to reach the venue.
If I use a walking aid/ mobility scooter/ wheelchair, can I bring it with me?
You are very welcome to bring these with you, our site is fully accessible. The outdoor exhibits will have matting over any grass areas.
Do you have wheelchairs that we can hire?
Sorry, we do not have any wheelchairs for hire.
Are dogs allowed?
No. Dogs are not allowed beyond the car park, except for registered assistance animals.
