Every year, the Thursford Collection opens its museum for a special Gala Day in celebration of founder, G.T. Cushing. The grounds are transformed into a showcase of mechanical organs, classic vehicles, world-leading performances and vintage steam engines.

Following a successful 2023 with record attendance, we’re back for 2024 with more exhibitors, new food vendors, live music and a new aerobatic performance!

WHAT’S ON


EXHIBITIONS

With over 100 exhibitors of steam engines, mechanical organs, vintage cars and classic vehicles – there’s so much to see!

ROBERT WOLFE

Thursford’s resident organist, Robert Wolfe will be playing two special performances on the mighty Wurlitzer.

VICTORY BACK IN STEAM

Experience a unique opportunity to see famous Showman’s engine, Victory, be placed into steam during the day.

STEAM MUSEUM OPEN

Get up close to the mighty machines and organs of yesteryear.

STEAM PARADE

See a host of working steam engines parade across the Thursford car park.

VINTAGE FAIRGROUND FUN

Jump onboard a vintage set of gallopers and a Venetian Gondola.

AEROBATIC DISPLAYS

The Flying Comrades will be taking to the skies with a special performance. The trio of display pilots fly a variety of Yakolev aircrafts.

LIVE MUSIC IN THE GARDENS

Relax and enjoy a variety of covers with a quirky twist. Performed by leading musician, Sue’s Acoustic.

FOOD VENDORS

As well as enjoying home cooked food in our Barn Cafe, we’re also welcoming Street Food Vendors, Bucket List and East Coast Pizzas.

Ages 12 and under free of charge 

You must produce the valid eticket to gain access to the event. Only valid etickets accepted.

All bookings are subject to a £2 transaction fee per booking.

We advise booking in advance to avoid disappointment.  Tickets may be available on the gate on the day but is subject to availability.

Mask wearing: If you wish to wear a mask, we are a mask friendly event.

Gala Day is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs.

Photography and recording is allowed across all parts of the musuem.  Photography and recording during the event is only allowed if it does not hold up other visitors, if this does happen, we reserve the right to stop photographs and recording to enable free flow of visitors.

ENTRY Please download your ticket or screen shot the tickets including the bar code before you arrive as mobile phone coverage in our area is unreliable and you will not be able to enter without a valid and scannable bar code.

OPENING TIMES are 11am to 17:00 (5pm), last entry is at 15:30 (3:30pm)

TICKETS.  You must produce the valid eticket to gain access to the event. Only valid etickets are accepted.

PRICES All tickets, prices and concessions are subject to availability and can be changed and/or withdrawn at any time, without prior notice. Only one concession can be applied per ticket purchased and cannot be applied retrospectively.

Management reserves the right to refuse entry

FEES AND CHARGES.  All bookings incur a non-refundable / non-exchangeable £2.00 transaction fee.

REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES.   In the event of cancellation by Thursford, the face value of the tickets will be refunded to the lead booker via the original payment method.

RIDES are subject to a charge and availability.

DOGS Dogs are permitted on site, however in outside areas only.

 SMOKING The site is non-smoking except in the designated ‘Smokers Den’ which is located near to the Entrance Kiosk. The use of electronic cigarettes is not permitted indoors.

FIRST AIDERS are on duty please speak to a team member who will radio for a First Aider.

CAR PARKING The car park is open from 10:45am. There is limited disabled car parking near the entrance to the complex. Please note there are no facilities on our car park. All vehicles parked at owners’ risk.

DIRECTIONS The Thursford complex is situated one mile off the A148 between Fakenham and Holt.  The turning off the A148 is at the junction near the Crawfish Inn Public House & Thai Restaurant. Please follow the brown and white signs to ‘Thursford Collection’.
