GALA DAY 2023

Tickets can be purchased in advance here or will be available on the gate on Sunday 2nd July.

Join us for our annual Gala Day on Sunday 2nd July 2023. Continuing its success from previous years, this year’s Gala Day is set to be the biggest yet with more engines, more vehicles and more exhibitors attending!

The Thursford Collection will be opening its museum for a special Gala Day in celebration of founder, G.T. Cushing. The grounds will be transformed into a showcase of mechanical organs, classic vehicles, world-leading performances and vintage steam engines.

Highlights in the 2023 line-up include the welcome return of Victory the Showman’s engine, which will be in steam once again following a complete overhaul and restoration. Thursford’s resident Wurlitzer and world-leading Organist, Robert Wolfe will also be providing the music for the day with three special 30-minute performances. Robert has been performing for the business for over 40 years and is a must-see for the thousands of visitors to the museum. Taking to the skies will be two L4 Grasshopper WW2 planes, who will be providing aerobatic displays (subject to weather conditions).

Victory, a Showman engine will be back in steam

Thursford’s traditional shops and beloved fairground rides will also be operational on the day.
